PRC Lock Haven: History
HISTORY
- In 2010, a Clinton County community member approached PRC about the possibility of bringing services to the Lock Haven community in the future.
- In 2015, the board gave the blessing to move forward with building relationships with various churches, organizations, and civic groups.
- In 2018, we held our first informational gathering with more than 80 community members in attendance.
- In 2019, a Steering Committee was formed and began meeting to carry the vision forward.
- In 2020, staff and volunteers began serving clients in Lock Haven out of a local church once a month, providing diapers, wipes, and gift cards to Clinton County families.
- In 2021, the Steering Committee continued to look at potential properties and staff and volunteers continued to serve clients once per month.
- In June 2022, we hired a Site Director to oversee the Lock Haven site’s day-to-day operations.
- In August 2022, an investor learned about our need for a building and purchased a suitable property with the intent to rent to PRC to provide services to Clinton County families.
- On September 21, 2022, a lease was signed to begin renting 53 W. Main Street in Lock Haven.
- On October 25, 2022, we hosted an Open House to share
- In 2023, contractors and volunteers worked tirelessly to provide the necessary renovations, updates, and improvements to prepare the building for serving clients.
- On January 12th, 2024, PRC signed papers to officially purchase the building with funds from a donor who wanted to provide this incredible gift to PRC.
- Our goal is to open in spring 2024!
